What Is Claude for Financial Advisors? Anthropic’s Wealth Plugin, Explained
Claude for Financial Advisors is Anthropic’s plugin for wealth firms: 8 skills, connectors to Schwab, BlackRock and more. What it does, cost, and who can get it.
Claude for Financial Advisors is Anthropic’s add-on that turns Claude into an assistant for wealth managers. It came out in September, and on October 27, 2026 a fresh group of investment firms, including Invesco, J.P. Morgan Asset Management’s 55ip, CAIS and Jump, announced they are plugging their own tools into it. So the name is suddenly all over finance news.
If you saw the headlines and wondered what it actually is, who can use it, and what it costs, here is the short, plain version.
What is Claude for Financial Advisors?
Think of an advisor’s day. Before a client meeting, they pull balances from one system, notes from a CRM, and estate documents from a third. After the meeting, they write a recap email and log tasks. Most of that is copying and pasting, not advice.
Claude for Financial Advisors is Anthropic’s attempt to do that busywork. It is a single plugin with two parts:
- Connectors that let Claude read data from the advisor’s tools, such as custody accounts at Schwab or model portfolios from BlackRock.
- Skills, which are written step-by-step playbooks that tell Claude how to do a specific advisor job, like preparing a meeting brief.
Anthropic says the goal is to free advisors from admin work so they can spend more time with clients. Its head of asset and wealth management, Peter Nolan, told WealthManagement.com the company is not trying to replace existing advisor software, but to help those tools work together.
What can Claude for Financial Advisors do? The 8 skills
Anthropic published eight skills with the launch. Firms can use them as they are or edit them, since they are posted in a public GitHub repository.
| Skill | What it does |
|---|---|
| Pre-meeting prep | Gathers holdings, recent activity and open items into one brief |
| Post-meeting notes and follow-up | Turns a meeting transcript into a client summary, recap email and CRM tasks |
| Portfolio rebalance review | Flags drift and concentrated positions against target allocations and drafts an explanation |
| Estate and tax brief | Checks estate plans against account titling and beneficiaries and reviews prior-year taxes |
| Alternative investments brief | Summarizes a household’s private and alternative holdings next to the rest of the portfolio |
| Prospect intake | Writes a prospect summary, an analyst handoff and a what-to-expect memo |
| Compliance and AI policy | Flags client-facing language for review, including against the SEC Marketing Rule |
| Advisor onboarding | Connects the advisor’s tools and runs a first meeting prep |
One rule runs through all of them: Claude prepares, the advisor decides. Anthropic says Claude drafts briefs and stages CRM updates and client emails for approval, and that investment recommendations and compliance calls stay with humans.
Which firms connect to it? Schwab, BlackRock and the rest
At launch, the plugin worked with BlackRock, Charles Schwab, Addepar, Envestnet, iCapital, Orion, Wealthbox, Wealth.com and Zocks. Advisors pick which ones to switch on during setup. Schwab said it would offer the product to the more than 16,000 independent registered investment advisers it serves.
Anthropic’s launch post also lists a wider set of partner connectors, including CAIS, Conquest Planning, FactSet, FINNY, Flourish, Franklin Templeton, Invesco, J.P. Morgan Asset Management (55ip), Jump, MSCI, Nevis, SS&C Black Diamond and Vanguard. General connectors Claude already had, such as Microsoft 365, Salesforce, DocuSign, Box, S&P Global and Morningstar, work too.
The October 27 announcements fill in some of those names. Invesco, for example, said it is building a connector so advisors who use Invesco Model Portfolios can see portfolio details and Invesco’s practice management research inside Claude. Invesco did not give a launch date, so treat that one as coming, not live.
How much does Claude for Financial Advisors cost?
The plugin is free to install, but it is not free to use. Here is what is confirmed:
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Which Claude plan? | Enterprise. Anthropic recommends it for advisers because it includes audit logs for recordkeeping. |
| Where does it run? | Claude Cowork, Anthropic’s agent workspace, through its plugin browser |
| Plugin price | Free |
| Usage price | Usage-based. Peter Nolan gave a ballpark of about $70 to $120 per user per month (an estimate, not a list price) |
| Can a solo advisor sign up online? | Not directly. Firms without Enterprise fill out a form and Anthropic follows up. |
How to get Claude for Financial Advisors
- Your firm needs a Claude Enterprise plan. If it does not have one, request it through Anthropic’s financial services page.
- Open Claude Cowork and search the plugin browser for "Claude for Financial Advisors."
- Install it and follow the guided setup to connect your custodian, CRM and portfolio tools.
- Or install it from Anthropic’s marketplace on GitHub (anthropics/claude-for-financial-advisors).
Anthropic ran a launch webinar on September 18, which is why "Claude for Financial Advisors webinar" and "demo" are some of the most searched phrasings. The recording and demos live on Claude’s financial services pages.
Claude for Financial Advisors vs Claude for Financial Services
These names get mixed up. Claude for Financial Services is Anthropic’s broader offering for banks, insurers and analysts, with data connectors like FactSet and S&P Global. Claude for Financial Advisors is a narrower plugin aimed at wealth management: the person who sits across from a family and manages their portfolio. Coverage of the launch noted it arrived days after OpenAI introduced a version of ChatGPT for the financial industry, so expect the two companies to keep racing for advisors.
What this means for you
If you are an advisor, the real story is simple: AI agents are moving from chat windows into the systems where your work actually lives. The value is not a smarter answer. It is a meeting brief that builds itself and a recap email that is drafted before you leave the room. Read more about how that works in how AI agents work, or see the broader idea on our agentic AI guide.
If you are not at a firm with an Enterprise contract, you can still work this way for your own tasks. Agentic AI gives you a team of expert agents on iPhone and iPad. You describe the job, such as "summarize this statement and draft three questions for my advisor," and the agents plan it, write it and check each other’s work. It is not financial advice software, and it does not connect to brokerage accounts, but for the writing and organizing around money it saves real time.
